Mayors Against Illegal Guns
Mayors Against Illegal Guns is a coalition of mayors from around the country united in their mission to make it impossible for criminals to purchase illegal firearms. All three presidential candidates advocate closing a legal loophole allowing criminals to purchase illegal guns at gun-shows. "Close the Loophole" calls on our candidates to act on this important issue for a safer America. The ad, produced by Devine Mulvey, features Baltimore Mayor Sheila Dixon, Jacksonville, FL Mayor John Peyton, Boston Mayor Thomas Menino, and New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg, and appeared on "Good Morning America" on April 14th. "The New York Times" also featured the organization in a story after Wal-Mart took voluntary action to more closely track the sale of firearms in its stores.
